It’s no secret that e-commerce has been on the rise during COVID. According to new data, the pandemic has accelerated the shift away from physical stores to digital shopping by roughly five years.

And social media has a lot to do with it.

Social purchasing was a major trend to watch before COVID-19, but the pandemic has accelerated the shift exponentially. A recent survey found that 41% of consumers are currently shopping via social media

Not only that, but 51% of consumers say they’ll continue using in-app shopping post-COVID.
