Tyra Banks needs no introduction.
From signing as a model at the age of 15 to bringing the word “smize” into our vocabulary, she has firmly established herself as a cultural icon over the course of her decades-long career.
Let’s take a look at some of her milestones, shall we?
She was the first Black woman to have a contract with Victoria's Secret and grace the cover of the VS catalog, as well as the first Black woman to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
She’s walked in too many fashion week shows, graced too many magazine covers, and starred in too many brand campaigns to list them all—and she could have stopped there and made a very comfortable living as “just” a supermodel.
But instead, she chose to veer outside of her lane to become an television producer, an entrepreneur, and a guest lecturer at Stanford University.
